For staff with responsibility for chairing or contributing to meetings work.
Course Aim: To provide participants with a framework to increase their effectiveness in convening, conducting, and concluding meetings. To enable participants to get the best out of the people at the meeting.
Objectives: By the end of the course participants will improve their ability to:
Plan a highly effective meeting
Inform participants to enable full participation
Prepare the agenda in order to achieve effective outcomes
Structure and control the meeting
Summarise all decisions and clarify actions
Deal with the people issues in meetings
Unite the meeting participants by allowing feelings and sticking to facts
Focus the participants and check for understanding
Build on ideas and protect weaker contributors
